Nathan Eovaldi Trade Rumors

It was reported that there were trade rumors between the New York Yankees. and the Chicago Cubs. The player that was rumored to be traded is one of the hottest starting pitchers for the Yankees right now. Nathan Eovaldi is who maybe up for grabs before the trade deadlines.

In my opinion, New York really can not afford to give up Eovaldi. He struggled a little in the beginning but he managed to improve on it. They really do need him to help produce wins for the team. He has been the most consistent out of all of the pitchers in the starting rotation.

Do you think New York will hold onto Nasty Nate or will they just use him to bait trade offers to see what they can get? Well feel free to vice your opinion, and we will just have to wait and find out in the near future.

Yankees Finally Hit .500 (22-22)

After last nights win 6-0 against the Blue jays, New York is finally back up to .500 with a record of 22-22. The Yankees are on fire right now winning there last six games. The pitchers are for sure a lot better and everyone is out there contributing.

Eovaldi last night pitched a shutout only giving up two hits in his start. He is one that New York has been relying on to win lately. At least the other starters are getting into the groove as well. I think the Yankees will continue to improve for sure. They just need to focus on what they do best. Playing ball.

Another star player who has helped the Yankees win is Carlos Beltran. As of May 6th Beltran is on for going 20-for-64 with six home runs and 19 RBI's. He has really been backing up the pitchers. I believe he will continue to get better. Overall the Yankees are performing at where they should be right now, but there is always room to improve.

Let's hope New York continues to stay hot against the Blue Jays as Ivan Nova takes on Marco Estrada. Game time will be at 7:05 p.m.

Yankees Sweep A's

New York continues to show progress on Sunday as they defeated the Oakland Athletics 5-4. Pineda showed signs of improvement which is looking good for the Yankees. He managed to pitch 6 innings, only giving up three runs which was a pretty solid start. It was a lot better than his other starts that's for sure.
"The last couple starts, that's what I'm looking for, to make adjustments to be better in the game," Pineda said. " I know I'm a better pitcher, so that's what I'm looking for. To be better all the time."
Today's win keeps the Yankees win streak going, now at five. Each of there starters are looking better as time goes on. All that really matters is that if the Yankees can manage to pull off a win then that's great every win counts.

I know things haven't really been going the way they were supposed to for the Yankees so far. Especially for Joe Girardi, he has been under fire with a lot lately about why his team isn't doing so hot. So far they are backing up Girardi. It's really all about how well the players do. There is only so much the coaches can do. He is doing his best to fix the team's mistakes. This guy totally needs a break.

Yankees still Struggling?

As the Yankees continue to somehow pull out wins. The news lately just simply has not been positive. News articles keep popping up about about how much of a mess the New York Yankees are. Sure they made some simple mistakes out there on the field.

But really a mistake is a mistake...every baseball player is going to have them every once in awhile. You just simply can't be perfect. Yes it is definitely something that you could work on fixing. A win is a win, if New York finds ways to win then that's great! They found a way to beat Oakland last night, whatever works is what I like to say. Just as long as you manage to get the job done.

Another issue that was brought up is that Joe Girardi just can't stay away from the bullpen. I understand that Girardi wants to use them all the time to his advantage. But they really do have to rest, people are worrying that he might use them way to much, and wear them out. He has to utilize the starters for as long as he possibly can. What are your thoughts on all these negative vibes going on with New York? Feel free to comment your thoughts.

The Business of Baseball - Top 5 Most Valuable Baseball Teams

Baseball is business, and the the value of the team is more impacted by what happens outside of the ballpark.  Paying fans contribute to the value of any given team, but the value of a team is represented by the enterprise value itself, and the value of the stadium.  However, ownerships of teams change from time to time, and a potential buyer of a team is likely willing to pay at least five times the estimated value.  This has to do with relationships outside the ballpark and even the legacy of the team itself.  The five most valuable MLB teams are as follows:

1.  New York Yankees - Current Team Value: $3.4 billion

2.  Los Angeles Dodgers - Current Team Value: $2.5 billion

3.  Boston Red Sox - Current Team Value: $2.3 billion

4.  San Francisco Giants - Current Team Value: $2.25 billion

5.  Chicago Cubs - Current Team Value: $2.2 billion

Congrats to all of you Yankees fans out there!  Your team is number 1!

Chad Green MLB Debut Recap

Chad Green made his MLB debut last night against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Lets just say he has a lot to work on if he wants to remain a starter for the Yankees. However that is usually expected for a young pitcher.
"It was an awesome experience, but I felt like I got some balls up in the zone and they did some damage with it," Green said." Overall I made a couple of mistakes that I'm not happy with, but it is OK."
Honestly, it could have been worse. It was his first start, I believe he will improve and become stronger over time. This was just a taste to show him what the Big leagues look like. He did manage to last the first inning, striking out his first batter and retiring the other two. Most people would know there is a tremendous amount of pressure on new pitchers and I'm sure Green was pretty nervous out there.
"I was just trying to calm myself down a little bit, try not to get too amped up, try not to overthrow pitches," Green said. "I think I did overthrow a few of them but from the first inning I was just trying to get ahead with the fastball."
Hopefully New York will look alive tonight as the struggling Pineda looks to get a win against Zack Greinke. Game time will also be at 9:40 p.m. tonight at Chase Field.

Injury Update

Luis Severino left the game early last night complaining about pain in his right elbow. He took an MRI and the results were relieving to see. The results were that he had strained triceps. There was no damage done at all.  Now the that still remains for the young pitcher. When will he even start winning? As of last night Severino is now 0 - 6.
"Command," he said. "He had no command. Bottom line, he had no command. He was not throwing the baseball where he wanted. He walked guys, he left balls up, he missed his spots. No command."
It's shocking to see how great of a pitcher he was last year barely giving up any runs, and now he is just struggling just year to even get an out.  In my opinion he is just not ready. Sure he had some great starts last year but teams came ready this year for him. Chasing after him every game. New York needs to make a decision soon on Severinos fate with the Yankees. They cannot afford to keep losing.

"Core 4"

Not going to lie but growing up these were the players that I always watched. I hated to see them retire. Sometimes I wish that they would just come back and rejoin the Yankees during the regular season. They were all drafted by New York in the 1990's as amateurs. They sure proved a lot over the years playing in pinstripes.

Chapman Returns!

It was a great night last night for the bullpen as Aroldis Chapman returned from his 30 game suspension. You should have been there to watch because most people like to pay attention to how fast he throws.

Chapman topped out at 102 mph to claim his first save of the season as New York won 10 - 7 against the Royals. The last batter Chapman faced was Lorenzo Cain which was a pretty big threat that night, launching three homers against other Yankee pitchers. Chapman managed to get Cain to pop-out on a 101 mph heater.

I feel like the Yankees will have a big turn around now that he is back. He is a very important key in closing out games which the Yankees tend to struggle with at times. He looked very sharp in his return, almost as if he never even left. He is very very powerful, he was definitely a great decision for New York on picking him up.

Chapman had one spectacular night, and I believe there will be more where that came from. The Yankees will play the Kansas City Royals again tonight. Game time will be at 7:05 p.m. Pineda will take on Ventura trying to get back on track. If Chapman comes in to close again, you better hope for him to put on another show.

Yankee Update!

As time goes on, New York is looking like they are getting back up on there feet. The pitchers are dealing, the control of there pitches are becoming more and more accurate. Sabathia was the biggest improvement so far. He has been the one to help New York get those wins even though he was just recently placed on the disabled list.

The Yankees have won 3-of-4 in these past four days. There offense is clicking and all the fans seem to love it. I hope this will be the turn around for the team. Everything looks great! I really hope it sticks around for awhile so they can play catchup.

The last two games New York has won, came from there ultimate rivals the Boston Red Sox. With Nasty Nate on the mound last night he delivered 8 strong innings winning 8-2. The best part was that it was against David Price! Price is without a doubt one of there best pitchers and New York managed to jump on him early.

Let's all hope that the Yankees keep it rolling tonight as they look to sweep the Red Sox. Severino get's the mound still looking for his well deserved win, against Steven Wright. Game time is at 8:05 p.m.

Yanks blank Orioles, CC brings the heat!

After a long wait, New York is finally back in the win column! It was a spectacular night for the Yankees pulling out a 7 - 0 shutout. CC pitched seven innings not allowing one run. They are showing signs of life in them, especially with Sabathia on the mound. He has improved a lot coming off of last season.
"We  needed one. It's just been a tough start to the season for us," Sabathia said. "Hopefully we can get on a little roll now."
McCann came up big last night driving in three runs. All around it was improvement out of New York. They were able to get the job done and score whenever they needed. The Yankees have to build off of last nights game. Let's hope that they keep this rolling into tonight when Tanaka takes the mound  against Gausman.

Yankee Quote of the Day

This quote was one of my most favorite of all time. The first time I ever heard it was when I first watched Sandlot. There was always something about this quote from Babe Ruth that always stuck out to me. Still wonder to this day the whole meaning to it.

Yankees Continue to Struggle, Cashmen Doesn't Lose Hope

As the struggle continues New York continues to lose. Coming off of a horrible three game series against the Red Sox, being swept in all three games. Cashmen is expecting as time goes on, that his team will improve. But what if New York continues to embarrass themselves? Cashmen says, that we will be forced to make changes eventually.

Honestly he is right, it is still early on in the season and the team is still trying to figure themselves out. They are still looking for that groove to get into.
"I can tell you they are better than this," Cashmen said." The is a fact, from an offensive standpoint, we finished second in the league with runs scored adn the winter added Starlin Castro and Aaron Hicks. We are obviously better than this. That's a fact inside the game or outside the game to the casual fan or if you are covering on the media. That is an answer that everybody would easily say. These guys are better than what they are showing."
I feel New York is going to have to make plenty of changes. It won't be easy because its not just one player that is the problem. It is the whole team. They still need to find it in themselves to get back up and to give it there everything. Nobody said it's going to be easy.

They got a lot riding on them. The players get payed tons and tons of money to perform efficiently for the team but they aren't even doing that. This is not the Yankees I knew. There is a lot of younger players on the team now. All of them need to step it up no matter how long they have been with New York.

As of right now, changes will not be made, so as Yankee fans we are just going to have to give them the best support we got. New York still has a legacy and they are still one of the greatest teams in baseball history. That is definitely something to be proud of. It's the amount of heart you put into the game you love. There will always be hatred, rivalry, and competition and that will never change.

Severino get's the mound today still looking for his first win of the season, against Tillman and the Baltimore Orioles. Game time will be at 7:05 p.m. in Camden Yards.

Yankee Recap

Its times like this where all the Yankees fans, including me, are becoming frustrated with there own team. After there embarrassing loss last night 8 - 0 to the ultimate rival, the Boston Red Sox, New York has now gone 8 - 14 so far on the season.

This is not something the fans want to see. The question is will Girardi and the team make any changes or switch anything up to try and fix this mess? There running on a four game losing streak. Something has to change. As far as we see it it looks like New York couldn't get any worse than they are now.

As a fan I will always stay hopeful that we can get out of this slump. I almost feel that this may be one of the toughest ones we have had in a very long time. Hopefully Eovaldi can try and set us back on track. New York needs the heart to pick themselves back up and fight back.

There players are getting older but they still have potential to be a great team. They just have to find it, and that takes a lot. The Yankees still have work to do. Game time for tonight is at 8:05 p.m. as they try to end there skid. It will be tough going up against David Price, all great pitchers can still have bad days.

Feel free to voice your opinions below.
