Yankee History

Did you ever know that the Yankees weren't really the Yankees back in the 1900's? Before that New York was actually the Baltimore franchise in the American League. On Jan. 9, 1903, they were purchased by two men Bill Devery and Frank Farrell. They then made it official that they were going to move the team to Manhattan, New York. Never would have thought the Yankees were actually Baltimore, pretty crazy to think about.

The two men above are Frank who is the one on the left and Bill is on the right. The team however was not official until March 12, 1903 where they were accepted into the American League and were renamed the, "New York Highlanders." New York was not named the Yankees until 1913.
