"Honestly, I've got no excuses and I'm ready to pitch," Andrew Miller said.Miller faced three batters, only walking one and striking out one. No runs were scored off of miller. Joe Girardi was only planning on having Miller face three batters. That's all he really needed. That was also enough to build confidence for the right hander while playing with an injury.
"Obviously I was thinking about it and was aware of it. But I think it was nice to do that in a game that isn't really meaningful and get it out of the way as opposed to doing it in a meaningful game. Honestly, I've got no excuses and I'm ready to pitch."It was said that Miller is allowed to wear a brace during games. One thing I don't really understand is why he need's permission to wear a brace. It's not his throwing hand so really it wouldn't enhance his throwing in anyway. If anything it might make it harder to move that glove to scoop up grounders coming at him. Just glad he is alright, he is one of our good pitchers, we couldn't afford to lose him. Great to see that the injury really doesn't seem to affect Miller.
Don't forget 1 more day until Opening Day!
