New York Yankees History

Due to the weather the Yankees game vs. the Astros will be postponed until tomorrow. In honor of New York's opening day and first game of the season, here is some more history about the Yankees.

  • Back whenever New York was named the, "New York Highlanders," they played there first game on April 22nd, 1903, just a little over a month after they were approved into the American League, against Washington and ended up losing 3-1.

  • On April 23rd, the day after the Highlanders recorded there first game in history, they recorded there first win in history of the New York franchise 7-2 against Washington.
  • April 30th the Highlanders won 6-2 in there inaugural home opener against Washington once again at Hilltop Park which was the Highlanders first baseball field in Manhattan. 
                        

Don't forget the first pitch is set to be around 1:05 p.m. on Tuesday. It's Masahiro and the Yankees vs. Keuchel and the Astros in a rematch from last year's postseason.
